Don’t Continue With Useless Arguments

January 3

“It is honorable for a man to stop striving,
since any fool can start a quarrel.”
Proverbs 20:3

There are quarrels that have lasted years, both parties believing they are right, or that they have good reason to continue the quarrel. But the question is: if you continue the quarrel another ten years, what have you gained?

Let it go. It can’t produce what you hope. If it hasn’t yet, after so many years, it won’t in the future either, so just let it go for the sake of your peace, the peace that comes when you do something God’s way. Even if you have to let it go when you’re in the right, just let it go. Be at peace with the person. THAT is gain, whereas a continued strife is useless.

“If it is possible,
as much as depends on you,
live peaceably with all men.”
Romans 12:18
