Jesus Christ Lives To Make Intercession For Us

September 12

“I have given them your word
and the world has hated them
because they are not of the world,
just as I am not of the world.
I do not pray that you should take them out of the world,
but that you should keep them from the evil one.”
John 17:14-15

This is the prayer Jesus prayed in the garden of Gethsemane just before he was taken off to be tried and crucified. Before he died, WE were on his mind.

He prayed, he interceded for US, that we be kept from the evil one. Indeed, he ever lives to make intercession for us, and has his watchful eye always upon us.

“Therefore he is also able to save to the uttermost
those who come to God through him,
since he ever lives
Hebrews 7:25

Friends, we are never alone, we are never forsaken. Jesus Christ is forever with those who belong to him, and we have the assurance that he is routing for us, always making intercession for us that we might grow into maturity.

The trials we have in our sojourn on earth are hand-picked according to the will and plan of the Father for each one of us.

“My brethren, count it all joy
when you fall into various trials,
knowing that the testing of your faith
produces patience.
But let patience have its perfect work,
that you may be perfect and complete,
lacking nothing.”
James 1:2

It takes those trials to get us there.

When we come to the Lord, Jesus purchases our shack and begins making it new until it becomes a palace fit for the King. Let us then always maintain an attitude of surrender, trusting with all our hearts that the work he is perfecting in us is something that will be of great value and honor for all eternity.
