“So they went out and preached
that people should repent,
and they cast out many demons,
and anointed with oil many
who were sick, and healed them.”
Mark 6:12-13
We know that at Pentecost the disciples were empowered with the power of the Holy Spirit to go forth and preach the Gospel effectively. But this passage took place BEFORE Pentecost.
Whatever the Lord sends you to do, HE will provide the ability to do it. Moses didn’t feel capable of doing what God told him to do and he complained to God that he was unable to speak well, but God sent him anyway. Gideon balked when the Lord told him to go into battle, and then the Lord reduced the number of men he had in his army and sent him anyway. And of course these missions were successful.
Don’t hold back when the Lord directs you to do a thing. Sometimes you will feel like you aren’t equipped for the task, and that happens SO often in one’s walk with the Lord as we see it also throughtout the Bible stories. God does not limit his call on us to the things we are naturally talented to do. If he directs it, HE will provide all that is needed to bring it to success. What God ordains, he sustains.
