From The Power Of Satan To The Power Of God

August 28

“…to open their eyes, in order to turn them
from darkness to light,

and from the power of Satan to God,
that they may receive forgiveness of sins
and an inheritance among those
who are sanctified by faith in me.”
Acts 26:18

The born-again experience totally transforms a life, opening the eyes to the deception with which one has been deceived. I remember the day I was born-again – it was just as if the light went on – all of a sudden my darkness was exposed and I was brought into the light of the Kingdom of God. One’s whole perspective is changed. One’s worldview is changed.

When the light is turned on, the change is dramatic and one of the first desires born into the born-again heart is for everyone else to experience it too. As one reads God’s Word, the subject of hell becomes so real, it motivates the believer to fast and pray for the salvation of loved ones, and then for anyone the Lord will place on his heart.

Human beings are first born into Satan’s kingdom, for the Scripture says Satan is the god of this world (2nd Corinthians 4:4). Satan’s kingdom is the kingdom of darkness, rebellion, lies, and sin. Upon understanding this, the believer grieves for the lost and is propelled into interceding for them.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is offered to transfer the lost out of the kingdom of Satan into the Kingdom of God, to grant forgiveness of sins and to assure an inheritance to come, eternal life.

If you have not been born again, pray with me:

Father, there is darkness in my world. I desperately need to be born again, that I might live in your light. I surrender myself to you and ask you for this transformation. Please let me be born again and live in your light forever.
