Sincerely Wrong

June 26

“As for Saul, he made havoc of the church,
entering every house, and dragging off
men and women, committing them to prison.”

Acts 8:3

This same Saul was also known as Paul. He was one of the greatest of the servants of God of all time and he wrote a large part of the New Testament.

But see how he started out…

In his zeal as a religious Pharisee, he hated Christianity and violently dragged believers into prison and some even to death. He was very sincere in his faith. Sincerely wrong.

But as Paul traveled on the road to Damascus, he had an encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ …and it totally transformed him. When the Lord knocked Paul off his horse and revealed himself to him, Paul bowed before the Lord Jesus Christ. Then he became one of most faithful witnesses of Christ ever to walk the earth.

Can a person be changed? Absolutely. Never give up when praying for someone. Their Damascus-road experience may be just around the corner.

“The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous one AVAILS MUCH.”
James 5:16
